How did the Catfish Extravaganza begin? In 1988, a few members of the Greenville Lions took a trip to Mississippi for their “Catfish Races.” They brought the idea back to Greenville, and now it’s the two-day event that we all know and love.
What are the Catfish Races? Real live catfish race from one side of a tank to the other—and the first one to the finish line is the champion! 🐟 Think you can pick the fastest fish? You can purchase raffle tickets to “bet” on your favorite catfish. Will it be a fin-tastic finish? There’s only one way to find out—join us for the race and cheer on your champion!
